About this service
Preparing a vehicle underbody for fresh protection requires assessing the existing coatings, contamination and condition of the metal. Thick or rubberised factory underseal can resist laser cleaning, so a two-stage approach may be appropriate.
Where suitable, mechanical preparation removes the bulk of thick, sticky outer coatings. Controlled laser cleaning then targets remaining grime, coating residue and accessible rust, helping prepare the surface for a fresh protective underseal or coating.
The process and achievable finish depend on access, coating type and corrosion depth. Laser cleaning cannot recover metal lost to corrosion or guarantee removal of rust from every pit or enclosed area. Structural corrosion and repairs should be assessed before protective coatings are applied.
The suitability and durability of a new underseal also depend on the product, preparation and application conditions. We will discuss the preparation scope and next steps rather than promise a flawless or permanent result.
