About this service
We assess suitable brick facades, natural stone and heritage stonework for removal of biological growth, carbon deposits, staining and surface contamination associated with weathering. The aim is to improve appearance while taking account of the material's age, condition and finish.
Brick and stone vary in porosity, hardness and sensitivity. Existing deterioration, mortar joints, coatings and previous repairs can affect what is appropriate, so we assess the surface and use test patches where necessary. Cleaning cannot reverse structural deterioration or guarantee complete stain removal.
For heritage or listed properties, any required permissions and conservation requirements should be established before work begins. Send us photographs and details of the location so we can discuss a suitable approach.
