Laser cleaning can remove rust and oxidation from suitable metal surfaces without using abrasive blasting media. We assess the metal, corrosion depth and component condition to choose appropriate settings and reduce the risk of unnecessary surface removal.
For heavily encrusted metal or thick scale, a controlled combination of mechanical preparation and laser cleaning may be needed. Bulk deposits are removed first where appropriate, then accessible remaining oxidation is targeted with the laser.
Cleaning cannot replace metal already lost to corrosion or guarantee the structural integrity of a panel. Heavily pitted, thin or load-bearing components may require further assessment or repair before repainting or use.
